The answer is: 42

Yess, nerds know this. Or at least I know it and my friends and we watch Start Trek and boast about it, so I think that makes us a bit nerdy. But we are also quite proud of our nerdiness. But that is not why I wanted to nerd this down. I wanted to tell everyone that I went to see The Hichhikers Guide to the Galaxy tonight. And it is great, funny, hilarious, with a very strange song that catches on quite easily (according to a friend of mine, hehehehe, no name mentioned) and a great story about a whale contemplating existence. It has everything, a beginning, a middle and an end and I was actually quite sad when it ended because I would have liked to see more. There were also a lot more nerds there than we, because I heard laughter echoing through the theatre. AAAAAAAAAAaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, nice memories.

Sumardagurinn fyrsti - ójá

Vow, it is soooooo warm today. The sun is shining and the thermometor I have shows all between 18°c and up to 24°c. And I am roasting. I am sitting now in my room, the window full out and at the the sun isn't shining but it gives little comfort. But I like it anyway. This is how it should be on the first day of summer. I am even wearing my summer gift from mom.
I am trying to gear myself up to starting on my essay, I am getting there but as you can see I am waisting a few minutes here writing about nonsensical stuff.

I finally got it

I finally got my essay from Celtic back. I said to my mom on Friday that it was better to get the bad news after the weekend so it wouldn't spoil it but damn I didn't expect this.
I got a B+ .... a B+ vow, I am sooooo happy. I saw my grade 17/20 and I sooo couldn't believe it, I actually had to ask him what that meant in letters (A, B, C) I was so astounded. If I didn't have ears I would have been really strange to look at today because my smile would have reached a circle.
I really I really could kiss my teacher now (but really for a completely different reason.... he's just so damned cute). Smoooch!

Busy shopping

Didn't write anything over the weekend because I was too busy shopping. That's sooo me. Although I didn't buy much on Saturday I let the air out of my purse yesterday. I went on an hour and a half walk through the garden and down Great Western Road on a shopping spree. I bought three skirts, sooo pleased and they are sooooo nice. Then I stopped at an Indian Sweet shop, and yes, I bought a selection of sweets that I have no way of pronouncing let alone did I even know what I was eating. But it tasted delicious. Especially the orage-yellow swirls (Hrabba knows what I am talking about). I still have some left, but it is disappearing fast. I went to Music Mania which has music from Bollywood movies and I bought the cd from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Something is happening) and it is beautiful.
Then just for the fun of it, I stepped into a furniture store that has furniture for children and oooooooo, it is just beautiful, I wish I was a little spoiled brat here, that I could get some of the things they have. www.somethingspecial.info Just take a look and drool.
And as someone might have noticed on my msn messenger yesterday there are now less the seven weeks until I come home. Yeah, which means it is getting closer to the exams. Eaks.
Good luck everybody and me too.

Fire alarm andskoti

Jamm, It happened! It had to happen, and happen soon. There has been maybe one since Christmas. And so everyone OUT. I was having such a nice evening watching a Bollywood film and then this. And it is cold outside, even though it is like 5°c. Thank God, it's Saturday tomorrow and I can sleep until noon for all I care. But damn, I hate those noisy fire alarms and all because some girl took a shower or was blow drying her hair or whatever. The funny bit was she was a bit mortified over having the fire men standing in her room with her "unmentionables" spread about. OOOOh, I am soooo bad. Híhíhíhí.

Essays aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

Ok, this was just one funny day for essays. Let the story begin.
Yesterday Mr. Byrn came into the seminar room to let a few of us know that we would be getting our essays returned today instead of yesterday like we had signed up for. Cool, no problem there ... I thought. I came in earlier today to pick up some books for my next essay and then went to meet my teacher. I came in and he searched high and low but could not find it. I was afraid it had been so bad that I had just thrown it out with the garbage. But no, everything was just cluttered and he wasn't all there so he asked me to come again on Monday and then he would definitely have it ready. So three times a charm or ALLT ER ÞEGAR ÞRENNT ER shall we hope. And then in Gaelic we got the essay topic for the second essay we have to do in that course as well. So now I am just up to my neck in essays and I am really drowning and have had enough. Give me some good news tomorrow, please and no more essays.

I'm back ...

In Glasgow! I am soooo tired right now, that I am barely making any sense of what I am doing. Árdís and I are planning to get some food soon and then try to see how we manage with watching the 3 missing episodes of Desperate Houswives, that we missed when we were home. I have been up since 4 o´clock this morning, and I haven't been able to sleep a wink since coming here.
I tried to write once during easter break, but something wasn't working right so I just skipped fiddling any more with the blog. Maybe it will come up now, that I have written this, unless this goes kablooey too. Anyways, I'll write something meaningful later, right now I just had so say "hi" again.
And on the brighter side of life: 8 weeks until I come home for summer!!!

I'm babysitting!

Vow, there has been so much to do since coming home, I haven't been able to write anything. I have hardly at all been on the web since coming home. Been too darn busy. But now that I am babysitting I do have time, which might seem weird to some. But the thing is the baby is asleep. Yup, my wee niece is fast asleep here beside me in the sofa. She's sooo cute. Mom and dad got to go to the movies tonight so I was drafted into the role of babysitter.
It is always getting shorter and shorter until I have to go back to Glasgow and then I only have two months until I can get home again. But I have been having the most wonderful time here at home with family and friends and very often I wish I could combine the best of Scotland with the best of Iceland.
