I had a wee accident - long story

Yup, you know knowledge is best gained through experience. I took a wee misstep and my ankle went all kablooey and pain shot through to my knee as well. All in my famous left leg. I happened just after 2 o'clock and I got home around 2:30, because I first had to take care of Accommodation matters. Then I had to walk all the way down to Byres road and it hurt like hell because it is a very steep way down. Took a taxi home (which had this in the window; Cab drivers: proof that practice doesn't make perfect!, which I kind of find funny. I am easily amused). Took Ibuprofen 400 mg and felt fine, so I went to meet my friend Laura, had nice time had coke and carrot cake and then went back home. After that everything went from bad to worse.
Took more painkillers, at seven o'clock. Ordered pizza for me and Dee although I didn't have much appetite. Came back in and tried to put cold on my ankle didn't work, put some inflamatory reduction cream ... didn't work, took 2 tablets of 500 mg Panadol and at 10 o'clock it hadn't started to work. Mom phoned and I told her what had happened, and she basically told me to get my ass to an E.R. to get THE ANKLE checked out (not my ass).
I asked Dee what I should do and he was certain I should have it checked out and offered to phone for a cab. I contacted Árdísi and asked if she was busy and if she wanted to accompany me, Dee couldn't because he was on duty. So we went to the Accident and Emergency thingy at Western Infirmary and that is a new adventure.

We entered the A n' E and was registered there and then told to just sit and wait for my name to be called. Árdís wanted to be sure I would take her in with me when I was called, and I definitely wasn't going to leave her out there alone. There were two police officers at the A n' E and of course it wouldn't be an E.R. if there wasn't a drunk person there as well.
It really felt like stepping into a film studio, I really felt like Mr. Bean coming into a British Hospital, almost like cut from a medical scene some thirty of fourty years before. And not as clean as you would like a hospital to be I must say.
But it is a large city so you must make allowances, there are a lot of things that can go wrong in a city this size.
Well, after waiting for an hour I got to meet a doctor. He stuck his nose out a double door and called three names. So off we went, we were shown to a room where I was asked to sit down, the other two were moved in as well. I was next to the door and then they closed the drapes. The doctor poked my ankle a bit and because I didn't hurt in the places he wanted me to hurt in I had only sprained my ankle and they didn't need to take any x-rays. The doctor basically told me to just keep on with the painkillers and icepacks and also gave me a tubesock and to keep my foot elevated. And that I could then just go. I didn't even need to pay for this, for any of it. Everything free. Cool!!!

We then took a cab home and when we came here we were both so wound up that we just sat down before the television and watched Alien vs. Predator. Ok, movie but rather stupid at times. No more so than any other alien movie though so not too bad.

Well am going to bed now, to keep my foot elevated and no shopping tomorrow. I'll see about Sunday though. If everything else fails I'll just get some crutches, hehehehe.

Right now:
6 Days until I am Home!!!
